Welcome and thank you for visiting my site.
‘Kate Carlyle Creations’ is certainly evolving and I’m pleased to be able to share it with you here.
Not so long ago, my work as a journalist meant I spent the bulk of my days writing stories about other people and what they were up to – now I’m trying to find the words to describe what it is I’m doing now.
While having treatment for Breast Cancer, I began making more pieces to suit my changing body shape and found people were stopping and asking ‘where did you get that?’. This interest led to some pattern making and design studies.
My passion for the unique stretches back to my childhood. The basic craft of constructing garments is something passed on from my Mother and her Mother. My Mum taught me how to make school uniforms and it’s a great pleasure to share the creative design process with her now.
On this site, you’ll see examples of my ‘work’. Although you could argue that sorting through beautiful fabric, deciding what to make with each piece and carefully crafting it into a one-off garment is really hard work!
Thanks for your support,

Kate you are a fantastic lady, with amazing talent for design, and with a huge heart!
Keep up the great work Xx
